Thank you everyone. Just spoke to the vet and there has been no change. One plus is that he's not full of gas but he hasn't pooped yet. They want him to stay in again tonight. His friends are not happy and bailey is looking for him but the vet says as he's so poorly they will be more bothered than him. Vet is calling at 10am. If there is no poo then we have to look at diagnostic options but will blood tests and ultra sounds actually help or is he just another victim of GI Stasis. I don't want to put my little man through more unnecessary pain

Obviously this is just my unqualified opinion, but I would be rather insistent that further diagnostics occur today. It may be possible to get an abdominal Xray without the need of a GA, or perhaps just light sedation could be given.

The Vet may have the equipment to run an 'in house' blood test to check renal and liver function, even if more in depth analysis would need to be carried out by an external Vet Lab.

I also agree. I would be wanting them to do everything they could to establish the cause of his problem, so that any treatment could be given as soon as possible. This would also btw be the case if there was no possible treatment identified at this stage. I would want to make sure.

The vet said an x-ray wouldn't show up anything as there is no blockage and if it was something like hair it is an ultrasound that should be done to see the stomach tissue.
Temperature is still being monitored and fluids are being given every 4 hours and force feed is being done regularly too

Can you ask for another Blood Glucose to be taken then ? Do you know what the previous reading was ? Sorry if you have already said.

Poor Milo and such a worry, my bridge bun Rosie went about 5 or 6 days before poop when she had a bad stasis episode no blockage (no xrays) what gut motility Meds are being used? I found using cisapride along with zanctac always worked better than metacolpramide but that's just my experience with all my buns. Zanctac and cisapride work on different parts of the go tract. In the event of blockage they said they had never operated since using cisapride. Sending poopvibes for your boy x

Hi everyone. Hoping some has had a similar experience we are going to the vet tomorrow but was looking for some advice/reassure/suggestions for my little man.

I am bunny mum to three bonded babies Bailey (f) 6, Milo (m) 5 and Oreo (m) 3. All are neutered and live the life of luxury with their own bedroom in the house.

Bailey is usually the one I usually post about as she's survived everything from head tilt to mattress eating but today it's Milo.

Yesterday evening Milo was quiet and wouldn't eat his usual food at bed time but after I had fed them some greens a few hours earlier and he ate his I wasn't too concerned (they like to scare me and miss a meal) this morning Milo still wouldn't eat so we went into GI Stasis preparations. This is something I have done many times before for my terrors. I gave him the whole works: metacam, infacol, fibre Plex and critical care. He seemed to perk up after the first lot of drugs and food so I carried on with critical care through out the day.

I cleaned them out as soon as I noticed Milo wasn't eating to keep track of poop and I did notice some weird jelly like mucus in the house (still something I've seen before with GI Stasis)

It's now evening and I've just given Milo more food. Still no poo and then I noticed what looked to be mucus with blood in coming from his anus. Not a huge amount but any can't be a good thing.

I've tried to post pics below so hope you can see then. Has anyone had anything like this before? It's nothing I've ever seen

Vet is a specialist in exotics including rabbits with 20 years+ experience. He is the clinical director of the exotics side of the practice. He said blood glucose was introduced by a vet who wrote a paper saying it indicated when to operate and has since been disproved. He said if it's a fur blockage this won't show on x-ray will need to be a ultrasound

Wow 5 or 6 days with no poop and she lived? That does fill me with some hope �� was she admitted to the vets or was she looked after by you. I'm honestly not sure what he's been given as he's at the vets and not sure what they've given him but I know it's medication and liquid and food

I do respect your vet's opinion, and I also know it's confusing when people who are totally unqualified try to say what's better, even though with the best of intentions. You have to stick with what they are doing to help, and know that we are willing Milo on to get better.

I just want my baby to get better I'm torn between being hopeful and being negative with my first bun who we put to sleep 5 years ago I was convinced he would be fine and come home. So when the vet phoned me to tell me they couldn't do anything for him it broke me as I was convinced he would be coming home. Milo is only 5 and has so much life to live with his wife and husbun. The house is so quiet without him I just wanted him to get better

Rosie was admitted for 9 days and I thought I would loose her as she had been treated wrongly by a previous vet. I just reread my post about Rosie from all those years ago and she did have a blockage - she had had surgery for a tooth root abscess a couple of days prior to being admitted to the savvy vet so was very ill. Do not loose hope x
