Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Nail trimming

Hey guys,

How do you know when it’s time for nail clipping?

I’ve been putting it off because my rabbits still aren’t entirely comfortable with us. They have got to a point we’re they will eat from my palm but not every time and are still very hands off. We are one week 2 of being together so I’m amazed at their progress considering how scared they were when they moved in.

But...at some point I’m gonna have to pop them in their carrier and take them to the vet, be it for nail trimmings or for vaccinations...or (I truly hope not) for health reasons...

I noticed you can see their nails on their back feet - they are just a bit longer than the fur in their feet (I would post a photo but I dunno how on a mobile). So when is it time to trim them?

Thanks!

Perhaps they can be left a little longer - gives me the opportunity to leave their carrier out for them to get used to as well thankfully!

If you are using Tapatalk, there is a box just below where your typing appears that says "Photos, Files" if you tap that you can load a photograph

Thank you. I’ve been selecting the scenic image icon to add a photo and every time it asked me subscribe.

I selected the attachment/paperclip icon this time and finally it works! Don’t have a photo of their nails mind.
