I think Charlie needs a friend/ Doesn't matter, can't get one

Everyone loved her... My friends all thought she was lovely, even the non-bunny mad friends. I still miss her SO much, but I just wanna try and focus on Charlie as much as I can now :)
I'd love it if you could help me find a nethie if I can convince my mam that it probably was a runt thing. I mainly want a nethie so it doesn't look like Mable, it'd feel too much like replacing her if I got another small light coloured lop

I'm sure your mam will come round eventually! The shock of the vet bill will have made her extra cautious as she probably won't want it to happen again, and I don't blame her. x

I kept the runt from a litter of 5 I took in to rehome (Maverick) and he died at 6 months too. He was always very small for his age. :?

Yeah that was the other thing... I paid £50 but that still left her with £80 odd to pay.
Well, hopefully I can get Charlie a nethie friend in a few weeks time, I miss seeing him 100% content all the time

Give your mum sometime, i'm sure she'll reconsider soon. My parents would always say no after losing an animal, after a while they'd reconsider :)

It's the vets bills too, coz Mables was £135 and we already have an ill cat and she doesn't want to end up spending loads of money all over again

It's so nice to hear you're looking for a new partner for your bun. We have to keep ours separated since we can't spay and neuter them (no specialist in the area) but we do our best to keep them non-lonely! If you're patient and show your mum you really love the buns, she'll come around (after the shock from the veterinary bills wears off).

She knows I really love them
But we have a cat who needs throid medication, which isn't cheap, and a cat who's likely to get catflu on and off which is a lot for vet trips, and with Mable costing £135 at the emergancy vet before she passed away my mam doesn't want to risk that amount of money again, plus the fact that she's scared the new bun would suddenly die too (doesn't help that a few of her friends have had buns suddenly die too).

The first thing I'll do when I move out in a few years time is get him bonded again, though. He's in my bedroom so he's always got my company

Maybe she'd reconsider if you got the new bunny insured??

I couldn't afford to pay insurence, I don't have any form of income (I had to quit college for medical problems) and I don't know if I'm entitled to any benefits or anything.

I hate to say it, as I do think everybun should have a friend, but if you can't afford it it is probably best not to get another bun :(

We could afford it day to day, but it'd be the shock of another high vets bill that'd be bad.
At least I'm at home all day so Charlie has me, and he's not just stuck in a silent room on his own.

Exactly :) I'm sure he is happy enough with your company...maybe you should try binkying around the room with him ;)

:lol::lol:
He binkys about with the hamsters and the cockatiel when they're out, he LOVES one of the hamsters. They actually follow each other about like they're playing.
He loves the cockatiel too but she hates his guts
