  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

first time stasis

She did do a little pile of poo over night, about 5 or 6 in her litter tray and she ate a little bit of hay just before I left for work. My mum is going to pop in to check on her in a minute and if all of her pellets area still there then I'll take her back to the vets straight away.

Some poo output is good news. I do hope that she will be doing better when your Mum checks on her xx

Really good to hear this :thumb: Poo is good!

Hope she's eaten something when your Mum checks on her. Sometimes they do go off certain foods when feeling unwell x

Thankfully she's eaten more pellets, and mum gave her some more fresh ones which she apparently started eating straight away!
She's still not moving around as much as normal and laying very flat, but at least she is eating more! Phew!

Such small creatures cause such worry don't they!

It's part of their job description I think ! I hope that the increased input will soon lead to an increased output x

Hope she starts to move around a bit more today :)
