  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Chibbs off to the vets

Thanks everyone. All fine and munchy this morning. She was so bright, normal, input-output excellent last night that I didn't medicate her at all because I didn't want to stress her (or me TBH) out. She's basically been normal Chibbs since 1.5hrs after her vet visit :) She did thump at Matt this morning, and as that was what she was doing when she was unwell yesterday he fed her some kale stalks, just to make sure. I think she might thump for food every morning now

It's peaking at 13C in the bathroom, so to keep them cool enough but still not outside I about to go and rig a decent curtain between the back passage and the kitchen: there's no door between there and the dining room which leads to the front hall, and I don't want to turn the kitchen and dining room radiators off! That way I can crack the bathroom window open on latch for some ventilation and chill during the day (still probably close it overnight) and they can go back outside when it gets warmer: I just want a happy medium so they can go back outside! We really don't have the time (or space) to sort a proper indoor space right now.
