Anyone interested in a bunny rescue team effort?

Hi all, I’ve been absent from RU for a while. Various reasons. I’ve just seen this thread, SO sorry I didn’t see it at the time. I’m in Nottingham and am totally available for bunny rescue driving and picking up etc. I can’t take any more on but can help with driving etc as I have a big car and work 4 days a week, not 5. I actually saw these 3 on gumtree, I tried to persuade OH to get them but he sensibly reminded me that my 5 was enough. Its SO difficult and I do have to try not to look on Gumtree but it’s so hard not to just check that all’s ok. There’s currently a bunny on there that I think is living in a pet carrier, I have tried to find out about it but the answers I get are very vague. My spare cage is currently on loan to a local rescue but she’s finished with it so once I get it back I could go and check. But then what do I do with the bunny?
The effort for these 3 was amazing and I’m so glad they got a better home. Xx

Hi there :) It's lovely to see you back, and I hope you've not been kept away for sad or stressful reasons...

Yes, amazing that you saw these three ... ThreeB's has such a compassionate outlook on life she couldn't pass by on the other side. We all helped together to enable this rescue to happen, and I think it was complete within 4 days from start to finish. A wonderful team effort :D

How are your five now? Have you had any bondings? xx

Hi MM, my 5 are great thanks, still in a 2 and a 3. Im adapting the shed so I can move the pair in as well as the trio, in separate spaces, but so in winter I can feed, clean and cuddle them out of the rain! Ive been busy at work and my daughter has been poorly, it's still ongoing so still high levels of anxiety, but we're all coping.
Im not generally a forum person, this is the only one I go on... I love seeing the dedication to rabbits, my friends do get bored of me talking about mine lol!
Some happy news in that Ive just got engaged so busy organising the wedding too. What started as a 'quiet' affair has kind of grown he he.
Anyway, I hope you are ok and all your buns? I read one of them had an accident, I hope he/she is fully recovered now?
Xx

Yes definitely a good idea to keep everyone out of the rain!

I am so sorry to hear about your daughter. That's incredibly stressful. I am always here to PM if you would like - don't hesitate :)

And thank you for sharing your happy news :D That's just wonderful!

Thank you for asking after us. Yes we had a big scare with little one, but I am gob-smacked at the wonderful progress he's made, thanks to our wonderful specialist vet :)

You guys  I better invest in some more padlocks ;)

Theo is seriously cute though, I'll get a couple of pics for you today if I can. He's such a friendly, chilled bun and has some amusing habits. He waits till the minute I've redone the litter trays to start flinging it all out again and when I'm sweeping up in there he will climb on top of the pile and follow the dustpan around . He puts in a mad amount of effort for a little bun :) x

Any news on those pics of my bunny :)

Am working on it :) I've taken lots of photos of everyone, but haven't managed to get them uploaded yet. Spent ages last night on a site and none of them uploaded successfully, too big apparently!

Updating here to say that Thor, Loki and Skye have had their Rhd2 jabs today. All of them are doing well. Skye in particular is really coming out of herself, she's enjoying the new playhouse and gets excited and runs around when you bring food :). I'm hoping to source an additional run, so they can start enjoying the garden once their jabs have taken effect.

I discussed neutering with the vet and we plan to book them in, in the next few weeks. I do need to consider getting Blossom spayed soon too , as she is getting older x

Skye is so 'normal'! She's just like my two, I was so pleased she was just a rabbity-rabbit when she overnighted here. She was curious, excited, pleased to see us, occasionally scared (if we did something unexpected like drop something ). Fantastic update :D

I love hearing updates :D

Perhaps start another thread and put loads of photos, if you feel like it? xx

Thanks KK & MM :)

Yes, will definitely do a photos thread if I can ever get them uploaded. Any recommendations of photo sharing sites appreciated. What's everyone else using now photobucket isn't really an option? Thanks x

People are using IMGUR and it seems to be working well :)

Definitely recommend imgur. Very easy to use. :thumb: Looking forward to seeing more photos of your lovely rabbits, especially Buffy.

Just a quick update, I mentioned on this thread that I saw a bunny on gumtree living in a pet carrier. My OH was really NOT keen I take on another (I did promise him when I got Dave that he was the last), so I did contact some rescues near me and yesterday the bunny has been picked up and will be neutered, vaccinated and is safe and well. The rescue is a small new one in Nottingham called Star Rescue. The bunny is lovely and Ive offered to help with her vet costs so she's all ready to be adopted. 😀

Ooh, they need lots of things on their wishlist which I have in my garage, waiting for me to do something about them! I'll pop them an email.
