More buns?!

Young Bun
After recently losing two lops to various illnesses/old age I am now left with a 1 year old french lop.

I have seen two adorable lop/dwarf lops and was wondering would it be OK to put these together due to the size difference?

Also would you have just one of them or would you get both (just that they are sisters and look so sweet together! The french lop is a neutered male. The two lops he use to live with were both sisters.

Also saw two guinea pigs which were cute but think I may be pushing it to get all 4 animals! Actually if anyone can help the two piggies were brothers can they live together when they are older?

Many Thanks

Debbie

Any advice? please!

After reading on websites I can see that two male guinea pigs should be ok together esp. with them being brothers.

Just wondering if to get one or two buns?

Both female buns are only 8 weeks old so would be too young to be spayed. Would you leave them seperate until they are old enough to be done? Would you just get a single female?

Also as they would all be living in the shed is it too cold for guinea pigs to be living outside? They would be in a hutch in a well insulated shed.

Had a look at that site, it is great thanks!

I've not bonded buns before, so can't offer advice really, I'm sure someone will be along to help soon.

As far as the guinea pigs go, it depends on where they are at the moment. If they're outside they'll be ok in the shed but if they're being kept inside I wouldn't put them out now until spring. The advice for pigs is inside/in a shed in winter rather than out in the cold. They deal ok with cold but not draughts so if they're kept in a hutch in a shed with plenty of hay they should be fine.

You might want to look at the guinea pig forum if you haven't already, very good site for advice. There are people on there who think pigs should only be kept inside but there are those with them in sheds as well.

The main thing with keeping boars together is to make sure they have plenty of space and two of everything, eg bowls, bottles, hideys etc. That helps to prevent squabbling.

No reason why you cant have a group of three :D If you get the two girls I would keep them together but separate from the buck until they can be spayed and then introduce them. But, as with getting any new buns, you need to have a plan B just in case it doesn't work out for any reason.
As for big and small bunnies together - there are lots of people with happy bonded pairs to say yes it does work! But obviously be careful at first and keep a good eye on them.
