  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Managed to get one from Treacle this morning if I drop it in to the vets tomorrow morning I'll be really late for work on my first day back. Or i could take it in for afternoon surgery but then it might not get looked at till the next dayis thiat too long? :?

Yeah I think it is, I thought they had to be there within a few hours :? Certainly that was the case with my cat.

What are they testing it for?? If for infection you COULD keep the sample in the fridge   (Believe me worse than wee has been stored in my Fridge    ) and make sure you indicate this to the Vet when you drop the sample off. If the wee is being tested for glucose/protein etc a fresh (same day) sample would be needed. Shame you are not nearer as I have a brand new box of Diastix looking for a wee sample to be dipped in!! Jane and Buns xx

I have it in the fridge :D I think the vet was going to test it to see if his kidney problems had a bacterial cause, in which case it may be treatable. I've been trying to get the sample for ages but this is the first accident he's had that I've been able to syringe up!

Gees, ur good I would never be able to do that. I would be like...mum, dad, help! I'm trying to figure out what you've had in ur fridge thats worse???? Come on tell me!!!
