  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

seemed to be eating less and lost abit of weight, last week mabel and sox had their check ups all well and vaccinated, sne then they seem to be eating less of their veggies at night but instead eating tonnes of hay as usual, they are almost though moult stage so it could well be this, just today mabel seemed to look more boney and when i weighed them both they had both lost alittle weight sox was 1kg now 0.89kg not much, mabel was 1.3kg now 1.25kg so maybe not much either, maybe its just the moult that is making me see more of thier body structure over fur

they are both still their selves and if i give them their pellets they are like they have never been fed, i had been trying to decrease the pellets further but may be wiser to stck to the 8 half pellets as usual rather then go any less

I thought Tonic looked like he had lost weight and felt concerned. I was right ready to take him to the vets, then I weighed him and hes exactly the same weight! I presume its just the less fur x

Suppressed appetite is a known short term side effect of the combi vac but if they were vaccinated last week I'd expect them to be over that by now.

This was my first year with the combi and Sorrell lost a bit of weight but then he had that reaction so might be more that, but Lavender also lost a little bit of weight in the week after the combi vac. The others didn't lose anything but were a bit quiet I guess.

Dana went really off it and lost quite a bit of weight the week after not straight away, I reported her side effects to the company as I now don't know how I'm going to vaccinate her :?

glad there not alone in the weight loss then, mind you they aren't complaining had a few extra portions at supper time
