Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

I finally got the vets to listen and xray sugar after months of her having runny eyes and they have said one of her tooth roots is blocking her tear duct and that taking it out wont help as the tooth matter is irritating it :upset: they said her teeth were missaligned and upeven and she had them burred down, she is home now but looking really miserable and dont know what to do for the best for her:upset:

Aw :( sorry to hear she's feeling unwell, but really glad you got the vet to listen and investigate. Have a rescue rabbit with similar issues, and the improvement he's shown recently is amazing, just from hay and grass (he had none in his previous home) and regular dentals.

From what my vet said, it seems that once the irritation in the mouth goes down from the spurs being clipped/filed away, the roots will become less inflamed and so the runny eyes get better.

I really hope Sugar shows progress like my boy - I think keeping on top of the tooth clipping will really help, along with all the hay etc. Her mouth is prob a little weird feeling atm (mine always seem to do lots of tongue flicking and fiddling), but i'm sure she'll be better soon :)

Sending healing vibes!
