Sylver Rabbit Sanctuary
New Kit
Hi,
I have registered today to ask a specific question - one of our rabbits - Gabrielle was born with a severely deformed jaw and has had surgery to remove her incisors this week. The upper incisors were very abnormal and she had a bad infection unleashed at their removal.
She came home from surgery fine but then at 2.30am friday morning she started gettting into respiratory distress and I had to take her to the emergecy vet hospital.
She is much more stable now and is on a lot of meds - one of the main things that helps her is nebulising - I have been using the nebuliser for over 7 years now for the rabbits but I am nebulising Gabrielle every 2 hours, she is worried about the sound of the compressor and I want to buy an ultrasonic nebuliser to make this quiter for Gabrielle and easier for me as she is with me all the time and they are very small and portable ( unlike my big industrial neb!). Do any of you know if rabbits can hear the ultrasonic soundwaves that make this type of nebuliser work or do any of you have one? I can go out and buy one from Maplins today but can't talk to my vet until tomorrow to ask him - I have googled info but can find nothing. Please help! Thankyou so much,
Kathryn & Baby Gabrielle
