Should you routinely feed a coccidiostat? (Heygates)

Wise Old Thumper
Hi, I wonder if you can help me.
We usually feed our rabbits on Allan and Page pellets. But on a trip to our local supplier today my husband has been told they will no longer be stocking them.
They have instead given him Heygate http://www.heygatesfeeds.co.uk/RabbitFeeds.aspx
I feel extremely unhappy as the fibre is lower protein higher than A&P but also it contains a coccidiostat which I wasn't sure it was a good thing to routinely give?
Also they say a breeder down the road who is one of the best in the country at breeding lops highly recommends it.. that hardly makes me feel any better.
There is no nutrition or ingredient info on the bag only what I have found on their website above which is not much.
And it's cheaper even than A&P... I'm nearly out of food and I need to get them sorted but I feel dubious about gradually starting them on this..
Can anyone offer any advice?

I would not feed a coccidiostat as a matter of routine in a Pet Rabbit setting. It is an un-necessary medication, IMO

This extract:

Coccidiostats will only slow multiplication of organisms until the host immunity develops. Adult rabbits that have subclinical infections should develop natural immunity and therefore may not need medication.

Thank you, I thought very much this and told my husband so ( I probably saw you advise someone similar before!) but just wanted to check :thumb:
Thank you... so ensues a drive further afield to find the A&P we need then, Thank you x
