National Rabbit Festival 2024

I wonder what is meant by the UK's first "ethical" "rescue-based" event. I am interpreting that as previous ones not being ethical.. I may be thinking too much.

I believe this is only its second year. I'll be there tomorrow. Looking forward to it

I didn't stay for any of the talks as I wasn't particularly well this morning but lots of stalls to look at. One was so horrendously busy that you couldn't get near it but sadly I can't remember who it was.

I went and bought some bits from a smaller store with very nice people on, The Natural Bunny Company. (https://www.thenaturalbunnycompany.com/)

I couldn't buy too much as I have to cart it home via coach and an afternoon show tomorrow. That and my daft bunnies are not that interested in toys or forage.

It was very very busy but I enjoyed it, I'd go again next year and come better prepared.

I was surprised to see that there was a set up display with real Rabbits at last years event (saw pics on FB, didn’t go myself) Don’t know if the same occurred this year. I thought the RWAF were anti ‘Showing’ Rabbits 🤔

The National Rabbit Festival has no connection with RWAF except for RWAF had a stand and were invited to attend. I got the impression that the National Rabbit Festival organisers were a little concerned about the advice RWAF had offered about biosecurity affecting people's confidence to attend. I think it would have been better for The National Rabbit Festival to have been offered that advice and for them to publish it. It felt a bit like hijacking and event that someone else had organised. (They may have discussed it in private of course but the two FB posts from RWAF in short succession is what makes me think they went solo on their advice)

I can't find the photo on FB anymore, I suspect the photo was of a different event and misleading, and that it has been taken down after you asked the question.

There were no bunnies at last year's event. As an ethical event they don't allow it
I read that detail on the NRF, website after Jane raised the issue, it was a strange choice of picture for the RWAF to have shared to promote the event.(Looked like rabbits in an arena with spectators milling around).
