Bonding after serious fight

Hi everyone, my two bunnies (M/F neutered/spayed) got into a bad fight after a couple of weeks living together. I originally had the female rabbit and the rescue helped me find her a companion (we still haven't officially adopted him yet). In retrospect I believe they weren't truly bonded even though I thought they were. After the fight, my female bunny had to get stitches from a bite and I also got stitches from a bite I got while separating them. After I told them about the fight, the rescue they came from has offered to take them and bond them for a week. They are separated now, living side by side while my female bunny heals. I have agreed to trying to bond them as the rescue believes they could get along once she is better. However, I still feel worried since I felt like the fight came out of nowhere. My question is, has anyone been able to successfully bond bunnies after a fight that leads to injury? How do you trust them to be alone together again? (Horrible anxiety about it currently). Am I better off just keeping my female bunny as a solo?

Personally, I would ask if there was another possible companion for the female, and leave her to heal and settle down for a few weeks before even considering another bond. Once there has been a full on fight, it's very unlikely that they will settle and you are much more likely to end up at the vet again for more sewing up, or worse.

You could let her pick a companion, if that's an option at the rescue.

I really feel for you :( I wouldn't like to risk it I don't think, how are their interactions living side by side?

I am sorry your bunny and you needed stitches. I am curious if the fight occurred in a neutral area or in an area one bunny may consider to be their territory.
As others said, if the fight occurred for no reason out of the blue, I would consider a different companion.
Sending vibes you and your bunny heal quickly.

It was in what was originally the female bunny's territory, but the male bunny started it. Probably a lot of communication going on between them that I was missing. Thank you for the well wishes!

Does are exceptionally territorial. Bonding is highly unlikely to go well if done in her territory.

Bonding needs to be done in an area that is neutral to both Rabbits.
