  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

The Bunny Burrito - Keeping that bun still!

Thea & Bobbin

Warren Veteran
Some of you may know that I have recently had to apply ointment to my bun's eye for a scratch on his cornier. Being a first timer and the fact that Bobbin is a fiesty little fella, this was an extreemly difficult task and for the first 4 days I did not manage to apply a single drop... even with two people!

When I returned to the vet for a check up I was shown a technique called the Bunny Buritto... it made me chuckle and it also saved my life!! :D

Many of the old timers probably know this already so really this is for anyone that has trouble restaining their bun for applying medicines etc.

I have compiled some illustrations with instructions to show how to keep your bunny still but calm. Like I say in the text I recomend doing this in a small area, one that the bunny doesn't recognise so that he doesn't feel he knows his surrounds and is less likely to escape.

Hope you like it, enjoy!

I have to burrito charlie in a towel to cut his claws, he looks really funny so I have a hard time trying not to giggle at his little head and one paw poking out.

I can't understand what I'm doing wrong, and there's me thinking I understood computers, and even a bit of html.... yeh right!

is it text or has it got pictures in it?
if its text you could just copy and paste the text into a post on here. If it also has pictures in it maybe you can save it as a word doc and upload it to photobucket.. then im sure we will be able to see it ;)

Try putting it on photobucket (or similar), some sites block remote image linking that might be the issue.

Here it is, from flickr... but loads smaller than I had wanted it... kinda hard to read. Well, i think i have super vision or something, no doubt no one will see this one either!

And now's it's now been blown out of all proportion, eveyone's probably expecting something amazing! :?
