Why do some vets

Virtually all pellets have grains in. I agree that it isn't a great option for a rabbit's gut, but most pellets are probably no better.

The way vets endorse Excel makes me think it is surely due to Burgess doing deals with the surgeries.

I'm sorry you are having problems with this vet, it's not the first time, is it? :( I personally find him fine, but I do prefer the other rabbit/exotics vet there. Could you ask to see her instead? There's no excuse for him speaking to you like that.

Is that Jenna Richardson? I find she's very nice.

Perhaps ask him why the research was on such a small study group, why there was no pellets only group and that the comment only say feeding muesli 'May' cause dental problems, which scientifically, means nothing! It's also worth saying that the statement can only be made for the specific muesli used compared to excel ( the pellets used) it does not cover all pellets v's all muesli. Tests would have to be done for each and every food to be able to categorically say all muesli is bad compared to all pellets.

My specialist changed Doughnut to muesli after she was on pellets as it seems to suit her better. When I asked him about will it affect her teeth etc he said if you only give her a small amount and the rest is lots of hay, then she should be fine. The problems happen when they aren't eating lots of hay or grass. I agree there hasn't been enough research.

I just wouldn't be happy with the whole attitude, fruit isn't great to give to rabbits but we all know we would give it to them if it tempted them to eat when they weren't!

The first guy I saw, who I think is the guy you see (don't want to name anyone), was great. He didn't beat around the bush, but I prefer that. The women vets have always been lovely, but this guy is quite new, and there just seems to be a personality clash with us. I take the buns, as referrals, to see someone else, but he always ends up being there when I pick them up.

He must just  when he sees me
