Have you split the dose of metacam so that she's got some in her body all the time. I've always been told to split it by my specialist as when it's getting to 16 hours after the dose they're in pain again. Maybe ask your vet if you're not. What dosage is she on?
Yes I split the dose I do find though that it has completely worn off after 12 hours, so if she is really struggling, she gets the whole lot in the evening, then half in the morning. If she needs it she needs it, side effects are not to be worried about at this stage, I just want her pain free x
Thanks guys. Daisy isn't doing too well she is still eating plenty, after the metacam has kicked in, but mainly brambles and dandelions. She is still eating some pellets in the morning though, and she is us also eating greens/coriander/dill and broccoli, but brambles are the thing she will eat at any time of day. I think I may have to say goodbye on Friday my favourite vet only works Fridays and Tuesdays, and I think she will struggling much more by Tuesday I am devastated. Daisy has always been here I talk to her constantly at home, my house will be so empty without her in it but I don't want her to be in pain all the time

Daisy is loads better this morning!! I think I know what it is now... it was raining yesterday and she didn't go out, so rested her legs a lot more. It was lovely over the weekend and she went out quite a bit. To get to the grass she has to go down some steps, which does her no good at all she loves going out though, and gates being picked up. So it's a tricky one but the difference today is unbelievable, she's a superstar
I'm so glad she is doing better. I've had the same dilemma with Lightning this year because any kind of excitement and exercise for him has then crippled him for 6-8 hours the next day. So we've also had to find a fine balance, but whilst he loves exercise, and does get it, I give it only in moderation. Daisy has so much space at home that if she can't always go out, that is ok (in my opinion and experience).
I hope you're also feeling a bit better today, knowing that she is also feeling better- I know things are not easy right now.
