Kim, I would reiterate that a specialist home is needed for Charlie. Be very careful of rehoming an unneutered bunny to anyone as he could end up as breeding stock - for anyone who fancies breeding English Lops as a sideline. The offer to help you find him a home still stands. Contact me via pm should you need it.

hya yea i know.shes booking him in to be neutered.told her she cannot have him unless she gets his vac n neutred.going to send me proof.xx

Couldn't you get your remaining bunny a friend who he gets on with and lives with so he has company coz I should imagine you will be busy with a new baby?

ruth i did mention about girlfriends for my boys but didnt say i was getting them just thinking.someone was interested in charlie but they never got back to me.not bein ruled by my partner he just wants me to find a home for one of them because of the time and care.nothing to do with money.i can provide for my children.and yes a spay is 55 pounds for a doe.alls i asked was help for finding a home for charlie not to be criticized.i have someone interested in charlie who is coming this afternoon and if she has him hell be in the vets first thing for his vacs.x:cry:

Hi not saying this to criticize trying to help. You say your re-homing for more time, i find two takes up the same amount of time as one. If you got then netured you could have them together, also i would think that one bun on his own would need more time and attention than two as rabbits are social creatures. Again not try to criticize you, only thinking whats best for you and your bun.

they are both in 5ft hutches which take an hour to clean each.thumper is a very grumpy bunny so dont know what hell be like with another bunny.maybe once ive had baby n got settled but for now im going to stick to just one.he will get loads of attention from me so wont be left out.never.x

Err sorry to sound harsh but if you can't afford to pay for vaccinations for you buns how on earth are you going to afford a kid

Sounds to me like the best thing for the rabbits would be to give them both to a rescue....

An hour each? What do you do with them? A couple of minutes to empty the litter tray and remove any damp bedding hay/straw, perhaps a minute to scald tray with boiling water(if nec), dry and then replace with clean stuff. Perhaps 5 or 6 minutes tarting the hutch up to make it look pretty in case the queen drops by for a chat:lol: Joking aside, I hope you get everything sorted out and that you manage to find an appropriate home for your beautiful lop. I'm just worried that you may be feeling pressured into giving him up too quickly, and to someone who doesn't really understand the needs of such a bunny.

Hi kim,

if you were to keep the two would you then get them both neutered and vaccinated? i know it can be expensive but if you could spread out getting them seen to you may be able to keep them and bond them once you've seen to it all, then its only one hutch to see to, and a friend for your little girl bunny...... i know that sometimes the RSPCA will help subsidise vet bills etc, it may be worth looking into. the only big expense is getting all this seen to i think the normal week to week costs are the same for 1 or 2 buns just seems a shame you have to lose a bunny, when you clearly don't really want to lose him

i think you should ask this woman for a picture of her housing English lops will need a deep hutch due to their ears (im sure alot of people dont think about that) and thought id warn you when Crystal had her babies 2 years ago one of them had a tooth problem where he needed his incissors removed someone contacted me about him (at this stage he hadnt had his teeth removed) and she said that she would take him and his brother the same day and she would let me know when he had his incissors removed sadly she never got back in touch... i guess what im trying to say is that people can lie on the phone to try and make a good impression if she gets Charlie the chances she will send you proof that hes been neutered and vaccinated are quite slim or at least i think so anyway. just be careful hun x

Sorry Kim but i'm very confused now! You told me you had found a home for Charlie some time ago and that you needed to rehome Narla too? This was all because you and your partner were 'having troubles' and you were going to live at your Grandma's?

Then not so long ago you were asking on here about finding girl friends for the boys???? :?

To be honest i think you should rehome all of them, especially if you and your fella keep having problems, and now that you have a baby on the way.

You also told me it was around £50 for a spay........;)

Hope everything works out

im a bit confuffled (like always) :? whos Narla? i thought Kim just had the 2 buns Thumper and Charlie :?

is he neutered? if not this might make him a totally ungrumpy bunny and they could live in a hutch together and so you would only have to clean 1 hutch and so could keep them both??? :D

I wasnt having a go Kim, not at all. My only concern is that you seem to aquire then rehome alot of buns.

I agree with everyone on here about finding Charlie the right home - and not to use him for breeding. I know how easy it is for English Lops ears to tear, Fae has some scares now that i'm still bathing and cleaning and she's forever catching her ears on things! (luckily not sharp objects!) And i rub aloe vera gel in twice a week as well as filing her claws twice a week.

It would be awful if Charlie was stuck in a hutch and injured his ear and it was un noticed.

All i am saying is just think about this, if looking after the bunnies is too much for you then it might be the best thing if they were all rehomed.

On a good clean out night i can spend up to an hour and half with my two - can you manage this with a baby?

I don't understand why you being pregnant means you have to give one up ? :?

Lots of people have children and pets on here...

narla was more my mums realy.just stayed at mine.goin see if i can talk things through with my other half.wish people would stop goin on about me not bein able afford the baby.i can.wanted another baby for 2yrs now. partner has money for the baby he just will not provide anything for my buns.al my money so thats why vacs arent done etc.im considering contacted a rescue to see if theyll take him.capel, takes an hour cuz they are on dustfree shavings which go everywhere!x

Your profile says your only 20?! I'm 23 and the thought of a baby scares the hell out of me!

3 kids at 20? I can't even look after myself at 27... Wow no wonder it takes you long with the rabbits, those babies must be a handful ! :D

How old are they?
Oh and congrats because I don't think I said it on the other post.:D

Babys are easy to afford because the goverment gives people with no jobs more money for every baby they have, plus a bigger house.
Pets are more difficult, but if you have the right benifit papers there are charities that will pay for your pets for you too. The pdsa in stoke town centre will give you free vet care Im sure.
