Mama Doe
Thank you everyone, I really really appreciate your posts.
I spoke to my vet this morning and he further explained to me
that in his experience with both rabbits and horses, that when
they have liquid gagging that it is an end stage of a blockage.
He said he believes its from a diet that is too high in protein.
He said I should feed less greens and vegs because they have
too much protein(??) when it's the main part of their diet, and to
feed timothy hay almost exclusively. I have fed sunflower seeds
regularily, which I forgot about , so now I will stop that completely
since seeds are loaded with protein. It just seems that they will
starve if greens are cut down, but will try it.
China ate a lot on Saturday, and his poo size was good, so I still
don't understand the problem of blockages and the symptoms (none
with China) but have been reading up on it and think it all might have
been due to some kind of parasites (in addition to too many sunflower
seeds maybe). So much to learn still. Thank you again everyone
