  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

John-Joe - U/D 25th April

Things definitely seem worse with furries when we are not at our best - everything seems to be amplified and more negative, plus we worry more about everything if we are less able to sort it out.

JJ - sending more 'no bloat' vibes. You need to get better and give J a rest.

Still sending vibes that J.J. recovers speedily and fully. Also adding vibes for you that you might get the rest your body needs to heal. xxxxx

Thank you

JJ is continuing to improve. I know he will almost certainly have more ‘episodes’ in the future, I just have to hope that they do not increase in frequency. It’s impossible to know what to do to prevent them when we can’t find out what triggers them x

And here we go again with another gut ‘episode’ 😢

Any vibes going spare would be very much appreciated. I wish we could identify a definitive cause of this problem. But short of opening him up I don’t know what more we can do ☹️ And I really don’t want to put him through and ex’ lap’

☹️

Thank you everyone. I really hope we can turn things around again. I was able to get him onto meds and fluids before he became as poorly as he was last time as I was up most of the night anyway. I sensed all was not well for him at about 3am when he was not loafing next to Dara but sitting away from her with a worried expression on his face.

JJ is responding to treatment and has passed some poo and is eating hay, fresh dandelion leaves and a bit of dried forage. I just hope the improvement continues. He will remain on treatment for another 24 hours.

Thank you for the vibes x
