  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Young Bun
Hi

Sorry don’t post here much but do log in for the occasional read

Just been quoted £240 for my 3 buns booster jabs, does this sound about right? Pretty sure I paid less than half that last year

Thanks in advance

It's a bit higher than I paid last week - they were £65 each. It depends where you are and whether it's an independent vet or part of a chain. You can shop around for them, but a good rabbit vet is worth the extra. You should have got a full physical exam as well, which can identify things like dental issues before you are aware of them. It's also worth asking for bulk discount in future - you may not get it, but no harm in asking.

Rabbit vaccinations are always more expensive than dog & cat ones.

Yes, I'm afraid it does. My vet charges £80 for one vaccination and health check.

Thanks, we are in Essex which probably does not help

They are booked in and I’m happy with the vet, just sounded a lot

Thanks for your help

Haha, you did make me re-read what I had written to make sure it wasn't nonsense

I've sent for a dementia booklet! Should help me (a) read posts properly and answer appropriately; (b) find my purse.:lol:

I tend to be cheered by the thought that if we have sufficient self-awareness to (a) wonder about our management of forum posts and (b) realise that our purse is missing, then we do not need the services of a dementia booklet........... at least not quite yet anyway:lol:
