As per the title. My friend doesn't live in my country so I can't 'send' her to my exotics vets who are great.
Her vets' recommendation for metacam is very different to ours (if working out different kg etc). She's giving the bunny 0.4mg for a 2.5kg bunny twice a day. We give ours ~1.5mg for 2kg twice a day when sick.
The bunny (almost 4 years old) has not been eating or drinking by herself for just over 2 weeks; my friend is luckily at home at moment so she's able to give her critical care with added baby food to make it more palatable - 5 syringes of 70kg metacam dog syringe, 5 times a day (I hope that makes sense). In these 2 weeks the bunny has not improved at all. Before this the bunny was spayed, which happened in the middle of January (adding this in case it's relevant).
Vet has come up with different ideas - UTI (antibiotics given, appears to have done nothing). Now they are saying maybe it's EC, so the bunny is on Panacur since 2 weeks ago, no signs of any improvement yet.
Other things are the vet said her teeth are pointed inwards, they filed them a little. They also said she had a hard bladder.
Any ideas what could be wrong? I've found what seems to be an exotics vet for my friend in her country but they're further away than she's used to and she's reluctant to go - she doesn't have a lot of money right now and the various vet trips have already racked up a fair amount, so I think she's worried about adding more, but the current vets don't seem to know what they're doing.
