Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Need help Rabbit has fur loss on foot

Hi my bunny hazel, has been gradually losing fur on her toes of her left foot she doesn’t really seem to be itching it so I ignored it
but it’s been getting more noticeable over the past 2 to 3 weeks I got her in December and I’m not sure whether shes picked something up from then (I got her when she was around 1 or 2 months) she is free roamed in a big room in my house where she (across a baby gate comes in contact with my 2 other bunnies who are New Zealand whites about 1 and a half years old I will be taking her to her vet in 2 days but I wanted to know if anyone has a bunny with the same problemthe photo below shows her left foot with the fur loss
thank in advance @hazelthebun18

I can’t seem to view the image so it’s hard to say what the problem might be. A Vet check is definitely needed though.

If she is a Rex then it might be a problem relating to her Rex coat. Rexes are very prone to developing sore hocks and sore feet. Especially if kept on abrasive surfaces like carpet.

hi @InspectorMorse i don’t think shes a Rex
she free roams on a tiled floor but she ofcourse has her bed with soft blankets
she earlier (before I got her lived in a cage mabye she got some sores from there
although I have seen a previous post on this group with a similar if not the same problem on their bunnies foot
I will message if I find it
