obviously this father has passed on his uncaring trait to his off springs and or his lack of intelligence. Those older kids can see suffering.

Agree with this, firstly he tries to avoid his responsibility and secondly those kids aged 13 and 15 are old enough to know they were neglecting those poor buns, I seriously hope that they have learned from this experience for if they ever keep more animals in the future. If he had shown them what caring for an animal involves mixed with compassion for sentient creatures maybe this would have been avoided.

His attitude stinks, he tells parents not to get animals for their kids because the parents will end up in court, but what he should be saying is teach your children that pets aren't inanimate objects, and also make sure you care for and check the animals as well.
