Everything has a cost. Staff need to be paid, rent and bills paid. Medical stuff is expensive to buy in. Those costs have to be accounted for and passed on to clients - so prices may vary for lots of reasons. It's just not possible to do it all for nothing, no matter how good the intentions are. There are lots of good vets, but they need to live as well. Vets have always charged for their services.
