Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Casper is at the vets Update: both unwell now =(

With arthritis there can be good days and bad days with regards to pain and discomfort. As long as she is eating a pooping I would not worry too much at this stage. Hopefully once her Metacam dose reaches peak concentration she will feel more comfortable and able to be more mobile x

I called the vets about Casper and Sophie, and they said to keep an eye on Sophie and to let them know if she gets worse or stops eating. I asked if it could be the arthritis, and they said it could be, but that it was unlikely for it to suddenly hurt so much she doesn't want to move when yesterday she was fine. So, I don't know what's the matter. It does seem like she must be hurting somehow. She has had her metacam this morning, though. She has moved a bit to hide in a dark spot now, which just worries me more. :(

Casper, meanwhile, has eaten some greens and pellets, so he seems to be doing better, at least.

Thank you, IM. I hope it's "just" that, then. She is eating well. I haven't seen any poops from her this morning, but I'll keep an eye on that.

She just went to the litter box and then ran back to her hiding spot, so it's good to see that she can move! She has a huge caecotroph stuck to her paw, though.

Bless her, she is probably feeling too stiff to get to her bum. Just pop the cecotroph next to her, hopefully she will eat it.

Oh I missed this yesterday, I really hope Casper perks up again soon and Sophie doesn't join him. Could she just be a bit stressed by the vet visit yesterday and needing a duvet day to recover with food delivered to the door?

Sending lots of vibes for them both xx

Yeah, it does look like she's a bit stiff... She cleaned her foot and ate it. :thumb:

Thank you, dollyanna. I think yesterday might have been a bit much for her, yes... Normally vet visits don't stress her out much, but she did have that x-ray...

I'm sorry they're both struggling today, hope they feel better soon x
How stressful for you. Millions of vibes for Sophie and Casper and that they are back to normal very soon. X
Thank you both for caring and hoping and sending vibes, Liz and BYB.

I think Sophie's feeling a little better. She got up and found some breakfast pellets in her play mat, and now she's enjoying some sunshine.

Meanwhile, Casper has been eating everything I offer him, so I think he's feeling better as well.

Sorry missed your update this morning about both bunnies not being well, although sounds a bit more more positive now. Sending lots of keep well vibes for them both xx

Oh beautiful pics!

I'm glad they are seeming much better. Perhaps a protest about the vet trip?

Thank you.

Casper did some really hairy poos earlier, so it looks like it really is his moulting that's causing him trouble. I'm glad he got that out.
