  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Bunny Insurance 'v' Saving Up!

pet plan have been great for me. admittedly im still waiting for the cheque for Alvin but i think the first one got lost in the post and the 2nd one hasnt turned up yet!!

Oh my! my first cheque arrived swiftly, the next two i am waiting for, when the next bill was 250 i braved asking the vet if they would claim directly for me. Thank goodness they said yes! I had to pay a £11 fee for the priviledge, but the next appointment was with a heart specialist (i didnt enquire of the cost!). I dont pay any more £11 fees for the same condition.

I nearly cancelled my policy back in january.... phew!

ive had the cheque for the refund on Pearls policy and the vets received the cheque for pearls treatment (claimed at same time as alvins). deffo not petplans fault but i really want that money :lol::lol::lol::lol:

I do like that some vets will claim direct ....... just makes everything sooo much easier - the less hassle when already stressed about a sick bunny, the better.
