Anybunniez Rabbit Rescue and Rehome Network on Facebook.

Thanks for clarifying the situation :)

FB remains an complete mystery to me so I would have no idea how to find out the info there

I have asked an admin from Anybunniez if they will come on and explain what it's all about if they don't I will delete this thread.

It's a network of people ( obviously dedicated rabbit owners ) throughout the country who give what help they can as in transporting a rabbit from A to B.
Fostering a rabbit that has been taken from a bad situation or is needy. Or even giving a home to one.

I offered help with transport in this area where we live.

There are rabbits taken off free ads but they are usually rabbits in need, underweight, in hutches with no food, hay or even water. They are only trying to help rabbits that are at risk and make sure that then end up in the right hands.

Like I said I have asked if someone will come on and explain what it's all about and if they don't I will delete the thread, I was asked to give it a shout out on the forums and I have.

It's not my rescue and nothing to do with me or Tuckerbunnies, everybody from what I can see on Anybunniez is working hard to help rabbits that need taking out of bad situations.

Why delete this thread ? It provides useful information and if people dont want to get involved they dont need to. I am not in a position to help, but I was just curious as to how it was being organised. Good luck to all trying to help, I am sure that being aware of the potential pitfalls is now something those co-ordinating things have taken into account. As someone else posted, every Rescue Organisation has to start somewhere and none were 'experts' from day one I am sure.

Maysie i am admin on anybunniez. I have done a post for the minute to explain a little.

I am currently writing everything out on a word document but have a sick bunny here being syringe fed every hour and two kids to entertain so its slow going at the moment. But i am working on it.

In that case can i just ask - how do you know that the people offering to foster and rehome rabbits are able to cope with quarantine, vet bills, unexpected pregnancy etc?

And what happens when the people who offer to short term foster then can't find a permanent rescue space or home for the rabbit? Who steps in to sort it?

Jane if you read what I wrote I was trying to find someone to answer all the questions for people on this forum including you who was wondering what was going on, obviously if nobody was going to come on and explain anything I would delete the thread as what would be the point. Already people have thought it my rescue.

I know it provides useful information and I know it's up to the individual if they want to join or not I am a member of Anybunniez so I know the good people behind it.

Personally I have had enough I did this for the sake of the rabbits and because I believe in Anybunniez, Mike drove to Cambridge yesterday to rescue one and came back with 4 as the conditions were so bad, Mike drove their in absolute pain as he has a problem with his arm and is waiting to see a specialist. He did it for the rabbits.

I won't be made to look a bad person when I am doing everything to please everyone and on that note I am leaving this forum .

I honestly did not mean to upset you  I am totally confused as to why you think I am trying to make you feel bad :?

I don't see anyone making you out to be a bad person.

Please don't leave ru because people have questions about something new. I would be more concerned if people didn't have questions!

The rabbits you collected yesterday are absolutely beautiful and are very lucky to have you x

Sorry quick answer as Brownie is needing next feed in a minute.

We have stopped people from fostering who have no space as sadly although people want to help we don't want anyone over stretching themselves. We do impress on people about quarantine and keeping these bunnies away from their own. We are currently working on a way to raise funds as it is important to us that no one is left in a mess due to not being able to pay for vet care.

We do have back up for fosters who can't look after bunnies long term or who have health issues which is admin team there are ten of us altogether. Including one very clued up vet nurse with 20 years experience with rabbits behind him. He doesn't often post on the group but is there if needed.

Hi,

Don't leave, what you do is amazing and you should be commended for what you do.

I understand why you're upset, but please RU is a brilliant place and needs people like you. You're an angel to bunnies everywhere.

Big hugs x

Please don't leave hun. I am sorry i'm just so busy and was trying to write a reply after i saw your post waiting for approval on the group page.

What Mike did for those little Nethies yesterday was beyond the call of duty. With the pain he is in and driving all that way. They now have a amasing home and future ahead of them. Both you and Mike are the most giving and caring people i have ever known.
Also thank you for believing in what we are doing means alot to all the admin

Please don't leave Maysie. :( No-one could possibly think badly of you.

I'm always happy to help with transport, so I'll be joining the group.

I haven't posted let as I don't have the knowledge or availability to help ... but I'd be sorry to see Tuckerbunnies leave RU. :( You have so much experience in caring for bunnies and assisting with rescue situations, and are a fine example to us all. :thumb:

Totally agree with this

I'll join, not sure what I can do. Do some bunnies go to rescues as the rescue I support would always help if they had the space for rabbits that are kept in bad conditions.

why on earth have you got upset Tuckerbunnies? :?
I asked the questions as most people will want those answered and it is sensible to question any new group that sets up,really no need to over react to normal and sensible warnings being given.

and yes rabbits in rescues are safe, but do need homes or we cannot help any more and will end up as stagnant sanctuaries .

If this new venture is well thought out and has financial back-up in place for emergency vets bills, and extra emergency spaces, then brill..the more animals helped the better :D

I have not over reacted to questions answered at all, I have read the posts of people that have asked questions and gone back to Anybunniez and asked them could they please send an admin on to RU to answer the questions asked. I didn't have to do that but did as I thought it was only fair. My leaving wasn't about you or your questions or anybody else's questions that they asked on the subject of Anybunniez or what their aim is so I don't know why you are making it as if I was aiming it at you.

I had told Anybunniez if they didn't send someone to answer questions on RU then I might as well delete the thread as there would be no point.

Then Jacks Jane comes on and sayd 'Why delete it' and I just feel as if I can't win.

And as for the 'rabbits are safe in rescues' they were not my words I was given this to post. If you have a problem with Anybunniez Jill have a word with them I am just a member like I was on here thats all.

Ok going to answer the safe in rescues bit here. Yes we do promote rescues and would love to have more on board. We have a list of rescues from rabbit rehome on a thread on there. Honeybunny we are not trying to take homes that could be given to rescue bun's. We are trying to save the rabbits that could slip through due to most rescues being full. Personally i can not sit back and watch a rabbit living in hell because a rescue has no space to take them on. What we are doing is another version of what i have seen on here with the free ad team. Most of the rabbits we help are pet rabbits which people are not caring for.

We take what we are doing very seriously. We do it because we love rabbits. Everyday i look at Rocky now in his forever home loved and cared for and know why i got into this.

Just to clear up any confusion from an RU point of view. With the odd exception of one or two rare cases when help has been asked for to get a rabbit out of a particularly bad situation/home, the purpose of the RU free ads team is to give advice on better/safer ways of rehoming, homechecking, vaccs, neutering etc
