Wise Old Thumper
My lionhead, Amber, who I acquired October 15th, started sneezing last night. She has had a slightly wet nostril since I got her, yet no white/cream/yellow discharge. Yesterday night I heard two sneezes and thought maybe it was from hay (some small bits at end of bag and new bag used). It was not until a few hours later when I cleaned her litterbox and gave her fresh hay that she sat on my lap and sneezed five times in an hour. Her nose was wet, water like, no discharge. Today I called vet and was already picking up meds for Raven, and while vet did not have an opening, he offered to give her Baytril for cover. She got her first dose when I returned home and took it well before she made a face. Her nose is still wet, yet I have not heard sneezing for the brief time I was near her this morning.
She and Zorro are separate by two layers of wire, about four inches apart. They have been near each other for 12 days and after a first day of stomping and running to opposite corners; they are not doing the opposite and showing some interest in being together. Now that Zorro is neutered, I hope that Amber's sneezing will resolve quickly and the two littermates will be able to be bonded next month. Last month when I weighed them both Zorro was almost a half pound more than Amber; today they both were weighed and they weighed exactly the same.
They are so cute. When they hear me with the pellets (they have hay all the time yet pellets are given in small increments three times a day), or sometimes when they see me even if I do not have pellets, they come running/begging. Both will take pellets one by one from my fingers , just like my mini rex Heidi, and they are very good at leaving the fingers-even with the shorter pellets.

Amber caught up to Zorro quickly, too, weighing the same now! I'm sorry she's been sneezing, though. I hope the Baytril will help it go away. Lots of vibes for her.
