Please Note - Medical Advice
Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.
You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.
We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.
Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.
thanks for the reply, she is hungry but she just wont eat pellets or basically any fibre, do you mean bramble leaves straight from a bramble bush?
thanks,
im just very worried shes not picking up at the moment, shes no longer having any runny droppings, just small ones, she seems quite lethargic aswell a the moment, she literally will not eat any pellets or much hay, just fresh grass, parsley etc...has anyone experianced this before?
im going to phone them and ask for another gut motility injection to be adminsterd by a nurse so i dont have to pay a consultation (they offerd this friday but for her to go back saturday for it)...ive paid them £120 this week and Bailey is still no better than before she went to see them, and shes had an unnessisary dental and anesthetic from them now (bit p***ed off at them to be honest)
im pretty sure the next step is blood tests and xrays, as she is still eating somthing though and passing droppings im hoping shes going to pick up once i manage to get her to eat pellets...
is at a moulting season at the moment? begining to think maybe a hair ball or somthing?
no...no signs of hair in poops :? im hoping shes just had a mild bout of stasis and is still recovering...the thing is, we dont know whats caused this...at all, which is making me worried theres an underlying health issue...i think im just goin to have to try everything i can to get her to start eating pellets or a larger amount of hay tomoro and see how she is
no, no stress as far as i know, the only time anything could of happend was when she was out in the garden last week, she may of picked up a leaf or maybe a cat came along or somthing, but she would of got over that by now...
