We got Dandelion from the RSPCA last Sunday. He had just been neutured. We took him to our vet for his injections and a general check up. I'd noticed that he was slower at eating than the other two bunnies so I suspected a teeth problem. Our vet confirmed this - she told us that his back teeth had hooks that were going into his tongue Poor Dandelion She trimmed them. She was very angry that the RSPCA vet hadn't done this while he was under GA to save him some distress. We are angry that this went unnoticed and Dande was suffering :x If we hadn't have taken him, his suffering would have continued unnoticed. Shouldn't these places do a full heath check on the animals as soon as they come in?
Anyway his teeth have been trimmed and he's eating slowing but this morning one of his eyes is really runny but he seems ok, he's run around and being nosey. Is this runny eye because of the teeth trimming or should I take him back to the vet?
