  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

At the vets tomorrow, think of us please

Well I'm posting this now as I know I'll be too stressed to do it tomorrow morning.Gabbie's off to the vet at 8.30 am to have her op,my little baby I'm so worried about her but I know she's got to have it done. This was my original (bit emotional  ) post last week http://forums.rabbitrehome.org.uk/viewtopic.php?t=22063 Please think of her (and me!) tomorrow it will be very much appreciated. Thanks all.

I'm sure she'll be fine, is Sylvie going in with her?

Will be thinking of you tomorrow :)

Thank you (now I am crying!!) No Sylvie isn't going I asked the vet if she ought to and she said no (hope that's right!) I'm taking one of their blankets for her to keep the smell and Sylvie will still have the other. It's breaking my heart as they seem to know and Sylvie has been grooming Gabbie constantly bless her she'll probably be glad of the rest! (do I sound convincing!!!)

Awwwwwww do ask your Vet to re-consider. It REALLY helps a bun having a GA to have their companion with them. My Vet ALWAYS says please bring bonded Buns in together.

My vet always tells me not to bring a partner but I always turn up with both- they don't have a choice when I get there

Just rung the vets again and they don't let the other rabbit come as well :( hopefully she'll be ok going to be a long long day!

Oh jayne, I am sending you both extra extra special good vibes. Call me at ANYTIME!!!! Maybe I can pop over at some point over the w/end or something.
Please don't get too upset or I'll be sad too  :)
