Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

False Pregnancy??

Young Bun
Hello,

I am worried about my bunny Crunchie. She woke me up during the night gathering lots of hay in her mouth. I didn't think anything of it, took it out because I thought it was stuck! When I got up this morning I found her doing the same thing, and lots of pulled fur in her cage! I googled these symptoms and everything that was coming up is about false pregnancy.

I am wondering if anyone else has gone through this?? And what I can do to help her.

I should tell you she hasn't been done. She hasn't been in contact with any other rabbit either.

Thank you

K

She will settle in a few days.

The best advice would be to look into getting her spayed so that it doesn't happen again.

Thanks Amy104. Poor girl is acting so manic, and not as loving as she usually is! I am planning on getting her done as soon as I have the money. Thank you for your advice! Hopefully it won't last too long!
