  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

how long without pooing ...

susie bun

Wise Old Thumper
... can a bunny last?

Spenser has been in the conservatory since 11am, and due to his objections to me catching him he is still there. He never poos in the house, and today is no exception. Off to have a go at luring him out from under the couch again!

I think it varies from bun to bun and in terms of quantity of food eaten, I'd put a litter tray in the conservatory with some hay/poop in it so he will use it.

Yes I would do that too.. He is a little blighter for giving you the run around isn't he??

He had his bowl, and knew it was there because he ate some of the hay. Just wouldn't do any poos. He's back in the hutch now, hopefully filling up the bowl.

I bet there will be loads, Bobby won't poop away from her room or tray either.. I wish Carlo would do that, he will poop everywhere

Quite a few, although smaller and darker than I like to see. He is looking rather peeved at being back in the hutch.

If you find a big pile of poos then count yourself one of the lucky ones!
Not pooing in the house but saving them all for outside. :)

Paw-Paw won't poo or pee in her hutch i.e. over night  She has the choice of TWO litter bowls but refuses to use either

Bearing in mind I usually put them to bed at 6pm (this time of year) and they come out again at 7.30am-ish, that's a long time to sit cross pawed :lol:

When she's let out in the morning she runs straight for the litter bowl in the run and makes room for breakfast

I knew Paw-Paw was very much the lady, but .... words fail me doesn't often happen!

I know  I've come to the conclusion that "one does not wish to toilet in the same area as one dines and sleeps":lol:

Good news for whoever adopts her though, she doesn't take much cleaning out :D
