  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

flickering eye?

sunnibunny

Alpha Buck
just a quick query. Bunny was lying on me yeserday, not sure if he was asleep or not as they can sleep with eyes open! But his eye i saw, the pupil look downwards and then the eye started flickering/vibrating. Is this ok? Is it like when they do a roll over flop and so get into a state of euphoria? but then stops after he jerks awake i guess after a noise he hears.

has also been acting a bit subdued recently, not sure if its boredom, a hidden illness, or is relaxed?!?! He always perks up when food is offered or hears a noise outside from a car or something.

just making sure about him, im such a worrier when it comes to him!

I would get your bunny checked out at the vets as this might just be a sign of e.cuniculi as eye twitching can be one of the many symptoms.

I think it could be the start of E.C , i have had 2 buns one with a head tilt who had rapid eye flickering when she was having an episode and the others eyes flickering was the start of her fits
