Parsnip.(RIP)

RSPCA Suffolk East

Warren Scout
Very, very tragically Parsnip went to the Bridge today, 31st August 2012, after developing osteomyelitis and the vet feeling there was nothing that could be done to help him. I'm beyond upset for him.

Parsnip

*Age- Adult
*Breed- Medium bunny- likely a cross breed
*Marking- Agouti
*Sex- Male
*Vaccinated- Yes
*Neutered- Yes
*Arrived- May 2011

Parsnip is a very, beautiful and regal medium sized bunny. He is agouti coloured and looks very similar to a wild bunny, but his personality is pretty much the complete opposite to a wildy. We are unsure of his age, but he arrived to us as an adult rabbit.

Parsnip is very friendly and nosey. He is also very cheeky and not scared of people. He appears to be a bit of a foody bunny which helps him over ride any concerns he has about people.

We do know that Parsnip is nervous at unexpected or loud noises, so this will need to be taken into account. He is though, very people orientated, and loves a cuddle. He is relatively easy to handle and seems to seek out the company of people by choice.

Parsnip is a really, lovely boy. He would fit well in many homes. He currently needs to be adopted into a home who has a single, lonely female (who is spayed and vaccinated), that he can be bonded with and spend the rest of his life with.

To adopt from RSPCA Martlesham, you will first need to come and meet the bunny/ies you are interested in. You will be asked to fill in the appropriate forms. We will then arrange a time when our home visitor can meet with you for a chat, and to make sure that your accommodation meets our requirements. You will also be provided with a free Rabbit Information Pack. If you want to adopt a single rabbit to bond with a lonely rabbit of your own, then after the home visit you will be asked to bring your rabbit (provided s/he is fully vaccinated and neutered/spayed) to the Centre to ‘date’ the rabbit you wish to adopt.

The Centre is open:

Monday- 11.30-3.30
Tuesday- 11.30-3.30
Wednesday- Closed all day
Thursday- 11.30-3.30
Friday- 11.30-3.30
Saturday- 11.30-3.30
Sunday- 1.30-3.30 (available by appointment only).

Please note that whilst you may express an interest in a rabbit, we can only reserve rabbits after the home check has been carried out.
Other information:

• All rabbits adopted from us are spayed or neutered and fully vaccinated (against both Myxomatosis and VHD) whilst in our care.
• We ask for 50sq ft of permanent access space for a pair of rabbits.
• You can find out more about the home visit at the bottom of the following link http://flashsplace.webs.com/rspcavolunteering.htm

Disclaimer: All the information displayed on this page is up to date at the time of uploading. We try to keep everything as up to date as possible, however, there is always the possibility that the situation has changed (for example, if a rabbit has died, or divorced, or been bonded, or adopted), so please feel free to visit our Centre to see exactly what we have at the time you are looking to adopt.

This is one very fantastic bunny. He looks like a wildie, and for this reason may get overlooked, but equally, someone who wants a wildie looking bunny may be attracted to him, but MY, his personality!

Opened the door to his enclosure yesterday and he is dancing around in his majestic way, I step in (dancing around to avoid him), go and sit down on the floor with my legs outstretched, and within about ten seconds he has snuggled up in between me legs with his head rested on my thigh. So i'm rubbing his nose and then he starts tooth purring, and then he starts licking me back.:love::love::love:

He is going to make someone a very faithful friend!

the last one is him getting ready to beg our lovely volunteer for some food.

Parnsip is the most magical bunny. I can't quite explain how amazing his personality is. He may look wild but his nature is the complete opposite.

Parsninp got some good news from the vets this week. He hasn't been well but now has the all clear and seems very happy about it. Presumably the medicine was making him feel uncomfortable because he has been very sad and now he had refound his zest for life.

Parsnip was in a very soppy mood today and just lapped up his fuss. He desperately needs a home with someone who can give him the time and fuss he crave and deserves.

He looks like a smaller version of my Tilly and she also has that amazing special personality that you can't help but fall in love with, SO hope he gets a loving home soon,

I was having a little look around the Ipswich RSPCA centre a couple of weeks ago, and I came across this lovely boy. He hopped right up to the fence and gave me a sniff and a lick. He seems so friendly. I hope he finds his forever home soon (preferably sharing the hutch with my soon to be neautured girlie ;))
