  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Rabbit quiet and out if sorts

Ren seems a bit quiet and out of sorts today, he had to go to the vets as he can have sneezing fits but they've far ruled out pasturella. Since Monday when he first went to the vets, he's not been his normal mischievous self.
Hes eating and pooing and drinking but it's like he cant get comfortable like when they have stasis but I'm sure he doesn't have it.
I'm wondering if he's very stressed since going to the vets and hoping he perks up soon, meanwhile the Vet has given me Rheumocam (painkiller) that we have to give him twice a day.
Has anyone else had a bunny like this?

Sorry to hear that your bunny is out of sorts. What was reason was for the vet visit, was it for the sneezing ? Did the vet check his teeth ? and did the vet say what the painkiller is for ? If he doesn't pick up, I would contact the vet again, but hope he's settled down a bit more now.

He was having sneezing fits but they have ruled Pasturella out. Yes he went back to the vets yesterday and again they checked him over but cant find anything wrong so they've prescribed this painkiller incase hes in pain but to go back I a few days fir blood tests if he's not better.
Something is wrong but I don't know what it is
