Lillith
New Kit
Hello
Just wondering if anyone could help me. I have a 3 year old rabbit has been having siezures, took him to the vet they put him on panacur and took a blood test, on the panacur he was still having siezures. The blood test results came back and beacuse he was having siezures near the time of the blood test it did'nt help them so she gave me Beytrill an antibiotic. It worked for 8 days and now he is back to having siezures..
The vet I'm with are having problems because they tell me, there not a specialist in rabbits and theres not much out there for them, but they think it might be these. The vet told me it could be brain spores he would need a mri to be sure, or liver failure which will need an ultra scan. Which are both costly and still may not help. Me and my partner are up all night beacuse any noise he makes I believe it could be a seizure, the vet told me just pad out the cage with towels or soft items, tried this and lost two nails in the process and it did'nt hold him just made him worse. So I have to be hands on all day, they told me hes a healthy rabbit everything that I was doing was well and these things just happen.
Someone mentioned its because he has not been neutered that could be the reason for these siezures ?The reason I never got him neutered the first vet I took him to mentioned have you had him neutered, I said no, he said has he had any behavior changes, I siad no he had not and the vet was supprised and said he should be okay without one. At the age of 2 I asked should he be neuterd then they told me I had left it late and would probably stress him out.
Any advice would be helpful,Thanks for reading
