  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

My rabbit gave birth

New Kit
Hello bunny lovers, I have 2 rabbits a male and a female, they are separated. She free roams and the male lives in his enclosure, sometimes he would jump out and start chasing her and long story short I woke up one day to find 8 baby rabbits ( I know they have to be spayed and neutered I don't have the possibility to do it now and I thought they are too small for any intervention ) . My question is how do I make sure that the babies survive and don't die ? I watched so many youtube videos but they all breed rabbits for meat and I came my rabbits differently. They all look warm and good except one is smaller and have wrinkles. She gave birth in her hidey house but I wonder if I should give her another box or something, or just leave the babies there ? I do have a cotton cloth that I change everyday and put back her fur and all the other stuff. This is the second day, if she don't feed them all what should I do ?
