A little update on Jasper,
After the decision to let Jasper see out his time naturally, this week i asked for a house call from Royal **** Small Animal hospital in Edinburgh who have been amazing in Jasper care as I was becoming slight concerned about his health.
I really wasn't sure how it was going to go and dreaded the worst outcome of having to put Jasper to sleep.
The vets came out and gave Jasper a through check up and recommend that we put him on a steroid called Prednisolone table which i dissolve in water and start giving him pellets again which is tricky trying to sneak one rabbit pellets with out letting Mysty find out.
The results have been dramatic !
Within a day Jasper was looking better, his breathing is less labored and that makes the strain on him less, he is racing about like a teenager and devouring anything i put in front of him. He was always a bit more a lazy rabbit than Mysty so was happy to see some weight come off him but now with the Junior pellets the vet recommended trying to get him to put some more weight on.
I know its a bittersweet emotion seeing Jasper now after the last few month of keeping him happy / comfy to this ball of furry energy but anything that helps him for how ever long he has is welcome.
Here is a pic of the happy couple yesterday with Mytsy snuggling into Jasper
