I've got £100 to spend for my birthday, and after a bit of an argument with my mum she said I can spend it on whatever I want, including things for Freddy. The problem is, our garden is so small and I don't know how I could get bigger accommodation for him. I’m just struggling to be able to spend time with him, especially when it is bad weather and I can’t go and sit with him where he can come up to me, because I can’t sit in his run comfortably, and I obviously can’t get into his hutch. This is where he is at the moment:
My mum said that if he is lucky he will live another two years (until he is 8 ), because dwarfs don't live long, and that it is a waste to invest lots in him as we aren't going to be getting another rabbit, but I think he will live longer.
My mum said that he has more than enough space, and that most people have their rabbits in smaller hutches, and that I am only in contact with a very small group of people on this forum that go OTT with rabbit care. She said that because I am young I don't understand a lot of things, like that people on this forum are adults who have their own house and a big garden and lots of money, and we don't have a fortune to spend on Fred, and that 99% of people keep their rabbits how we have Freddy, or worse.
I did mention re-homing, but my mum just said "who would be able to give him a better home?"
Should I just get him vaccinations and some nice hay with the money?
