How much do you spend on your rabbits - challenge

Added in some cat litter and and insurance payout, so I'm in the pluses for July so far, which makes a lovely change!

Of course it doesn't change the other £800ish I've spent on them since february, or the fact that I'll need to buy more of all his medication by the end of the month... but shhhh we'll ignore that bit

umm trying to add up the last couple of weeks that I've not posted. £16 for hay, £14.83 on some fenugrek crunchies, a play ball and some Oxbow digestive tablets, £1.99 on a vegi skewer and roughly £6.74 on veg. So that's a total of £49.56 so far. As also spent £10 on pellets

Added in June, July and August (may have bought a bale in July but maybe with cash or maybe Dad paid :p)

Total now £916.45. I have meds and medical supplies now for around two months (once my needles and syringes arrive) but may have boarding fees end of August/beginning of September. In theory my only expense for the next two months should be hay and boarding.

This week have had £16 on hay (although I probably use a third on the guinea pigs so £10) and roughly £4 on veg, it's hard to gauge now as they share with the guinea pigs. So that's £73.56 for last week of July and also August. Blimey that's a lot

July vet bills for Poppy - £243.83

August vet bills from the 14th for Poppy, Leo and Kerbie - £122.99

Hay for mid July/August - £110. I do need to order some timothyhay.co,uk stuff and maybe some DFH at the weekend though so another £40 maybe.

Fitch - £17.49

= £494.31

Phew, just added everything up until now including plastikote, vets visits, readigrass and fibafirst etc.

Over the last two weeks I've spent £21.08 on Veg for them and the piggies as well as a carrot cottage and a willow chew toy.

Some of you have spent loads. My bun had almost total freedom in the house. Not including yesterdays vet bill my bun barely cost me £3 per month to feed. He only weighed 1.2kg... i had unlimited grass and dandelions from the garden.

£25 on some yummy dust free hay (the american timothy hay is looking lovely!)

£110 on on going treatment for Leo and Poppy's metacam.

£2.60 on a new flower garland. Who is getting it I don't know but it was only £2.60 :p

This weeks non food items:

Wooden toy train with carriage as hay rack £5
Hut £13.99

Coffee table with shelf (great to lie on!) £5

Maybe I should join in.. he had the whole house to roam.. must be worth 200k..

He had the sofa, must have cost £1k...

He had my bed.. £500?

He had my heart - priceless.

do I win?

This is getting hard to add up now! Updated my total, comes to £1068.44 now. Vet visit tomorrow.

Barney's birthday at the end of the month  my baby's getting old! Not sure what to get him, torn between some herbs and an ikea doll bed.

Okidokey here goes! I'm trying to keep costs down so will try to spend as little as possible and note everything I remember. I'll start from February as I buy things all over the place... I have 2 bunnies. I have Barney insured so I do get some of his vet costs back - I'll add minuses in as and when I receive claims. I won't add in fresh food unless I buy it specifically for them.

This week I spent £2.75 on veg, £5 on pellets and £10 on hay. so a total of £17.75. Which means I've spent £38.33 for September so far.

Only had my bun for a few months, so i'll start from the beginning;
perma-run £25(ish)
hay £2.50
hay rack £2
treat ball £2(?)
Wooden chew thing £2(?)
2 for 3 plants £4 (2 rosemary, 1 mint)
2 mat/rug things to help with slippy laminate £1.98
A rose plant (tree? Bush?) 99p (!!)
A couple of corn/treat things - scraped, dunno how much and hardly fair to pen as a bunny expense.

Pretty sure that's it!! I'm lucky that i rehomed Kief from my bestie who kindly gave me nearly full bags of food/hay and her cage/bowls/water bottle.

Soooo around £38.50 in two months, not bad at all.

September was a cheap month, what with only needing a bale of hay. Running out of Meg's tablets though so will need to go to the vets soon.
