Please Note - Medical Advice
Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.
You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.
We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.
Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.
Binx made it through the night, but he hasn't attempted to use his back legs and he has no droppings the vet I'd going to x-Ray him but she thinks it's his spine still. I feel like iv been hit by a bus. I have never had anything like this happen to any of my pets before
Really, I hope you are right. Finger and paws crossed. I can't loose Binx not like this. There may still be hope. It could be nerve damage rather than a spinal fracture. Sometimes nerve damage can repair, even if initial presentation is total loss of the use of the hind legs. Whilst Binx's situation obviously remains grave, that small element of hope is there.
It must be so hard for you to cope with all that has happened
This is it, if he hasn't broken his spine he will certainly be disabled. Can bunnies live without use of there legs. Gosh I'm just speculating. I should wait to hear. I can believe I am responsible for this happening to binx.Well, that is good news. I hope the x-Ray gives some more positive news. Many bunnies can and do live with disability if it comes to that so there is hope. More nose rubs for your boy.
