  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Harley losing weight? U/D Binky free my special boy x

Thank you everyone.

I brought Harley home this afternoon and, following Freakle's advice, let Jenny see him. I'm normally a very reserved person but I sobbed my heart out watching Jenny say her goodbyes :( She hopped over to him and immediately lay down with him and put her head on his nose. She stayed like that for about ten minutes before gently washing him and then hopping away

I left them for a while but she didn't go back to him after that, so I took him out and laid him to rest under a bay tree in our garden. It was heartbreaking :( :( Jen seemed to be more settled now though - she's gone from being very withdraw and quiet to playing in her run, so I am glad that I brought him home to see her, although I was frightened about doing it :(

I miss him so much

So so sorry. I have only just seen this thread. It is so sad that he has gone but what a happy few months he has had. When you first drew our attention to him on the forum I completely fell in love with him, he just looked like a little teddy bear, crickey, I'm crying now. x

Thanks Isabel. I thought he looked just a lovely little bear too, especially in this picture:

That's my favourite photo of him.

I've been crying all evening.. just when I think I'm settling a bit I start up again :( He went through so much and was so brave.

Oh dear, you've set me off again. It will take time for you and Jen, please don't be sad for him though because he will be happy with all the other bunnies at the bridge and he'll be able to see again.

I've only just read.

I'm so sorry to hear about Harley. Binky free beautiful boy.

and heaps of hugs to you. x x x
