New Kit
Hello, everyone.
I am new at this forum, and I really hope it is still active.
This is a UK forum, if I understand correctly, focussed (but I believe certainly not exclusively meant for) on the UK (I mean bunny vets and organisations-wise. All else is universally applicable). I am not currently a UK resident (though it is a plan of mine to become one in the next 5 years--if I can find my line of work there, Brexit notwithstanding), but where I am located, there are no rabbit organisations such as in the UK and USA, and the rabbit vet situation is abysmal, I mean ABYSMAL. The vets here specialise in cattle and dogs/cats. When it comes to any other animal, it comes down to 2 (!!!!) vets in the whole country who have ever had a modicum of professional experience with rabbits (honestly, I have no idea how people who have parrots find a helpline here, if rabbits are seen as 'exotic animals'. There are no forums for rabbit fanciers (I am not inclined to say ''owners'', as I am not a cattle baron) here, no organisation in real life dedicated to it (there are now a few animal sanctuaries here not limited to the buns, but all animals used for meat/diary/fur that gladden my heart; alas, they are not located anywhere near me, nor can I afford to support them any more than minimally on a financial level). There are a few closed Facebook groups I wot of from the brif time I was on there, but I no longer am interested in social media, so I have no account and no access to that. Otherwise, this is a very closed society, with a ''you're on your own'' mindset about everything, and health care is available only to those who belong to the upper echelons of society; same goes for vets.
