  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Daisy not right again :( U/D Gained half a kg!!!

Would it be safe though to do that? Rotating means it heats evenly throughout... I'm so frustrated about this!!

Well the microwave I had before my current one (just a few years previously) didn't have a turntable, so it couldn't have gone round if it had wanted to  You could turn it over half way?

Have you got a microwaveable plastic rack that you could stand over the bit that makes the turntable turn. Otherwise it could put a hole in the pad as it turns all the time even when you take the plate out.

Daisy has been to the vets tonight, I wanted them to express her bladder, as she has been having 'accidents' around the living room, and I thought maybe she was getting sludgy again. Her wee was a little bit cloudy, but fine really :) the vet thought it was probably due to loss of muscle tone in her bladder, due to her arthritis etc. I was a bit embarrassed that she has put on half a kilo in a month!! she had lost a lot of weight, so I have been feeding her more naughty things, to try to get it back on her... it obviously worked!! I will have to start reducing things again now, or she'll be getting too porky!!

Rosie will have some of that spare weight please  Hope Daisy is ok.

Thanks, I think extra carrots did the trick!! She used to get one slice a day, but she's recently been getting 3 rather chunky 'slices' also extra greens and broccoli to make up for her reduced pellet ration (trying to reduce calcium intake). She does seem to have developed a carrot addiction, I have started to give her less now...

Good for the weight gain :D

Well done Daisy and her carer :D I have to say my rabbits would quite easily develop a carrot addiction if they were allowed to  It must be super sweet for them :)
