  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Congenital Agangliosis

It seems everything is steering away from CPS, which is good, but I figured I would pass this along. I made a thread about the condition about a month ago, and Jane actually had a bunny with the syndrome.

I hope the specialist can shed some light on the situation and I hope it's nothing too serious. With CPS, I think there are bouts of severe stasis and a few other things. Keep your eyes peeled, but I'm hoping it's something more easily treated.

But good on you for reading up on this and considering all options. I was concerned Milo had this as well! But it turned out to just be something else. Better to cast a wide net and catch some tin cans, right? :)

Bit of a long shot, but has she been wormed?

Yeh she was done about 2 months ago. I will do it again if the vet thinks its worthwhile but havent started it yet as she hates being syringed and wont take it off food so dont want to stress her too much.

She hasnt passed any fluid with her faeces since Sunday evening now so fingers crossed things are improving.
