Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Because as soon as there's a success and I post about it, something else has to be wrong, because ofc! [emoji38] Honestly Clementine is lucky she's cute [emoji19]

Her third eyelid keeps showing, on her left eye, right eye looks normal, she keeps closing the left too.. I don't know anything about eyes tbh, do you think it could be she's got a bit of fur in it or something? She is moulting? Or is this needs to see our vet tomorrow level?

TIA x

Could be that something has irritated her eye. If you bathe the inner corner with cooled boiled water, applying a little pressure some gunk might come out of the nasolacrimal duct.

Thanks Jane I'll give that a try :) how long should I wait do you think before getting William to look? I don't know how long is appropriate to see if it improves [emoji51]

I would give William a call tomorrow. Sometimes the third eyelid can show if their is a corneal abrasion. Although the eye usually waters a lot too and Bunny might not want to keep the eye open if there is a corneal abrasion.A Fluoroscein Dye stain would pick up a corneal abrasion. I wouldn’t worry too much as long as the eyeball does not appear to be bulging.

Sending lots of vibes for Clementine's eye. I hope hers is also something minor.

Thanks everyone :D

Thanks for the advice Jane :) so I bathed it, not much happened, but then I looked later and her eye looked totally normal again, so we'll see I guess! No bulging or anything so maybe it was just a small irritation, I hope so, if not green eye dye for Clementine! She'll love that [emoji38]

Hopefully it was just a tiny bit of fur that irritated the eye :)
