Wise Old Thumper
Big makes a call from Beige's mobile
RSPCA: Hello RSPCA
Big: Hello. Me and my brother need rescuing
RSPCA: What’s wrong?
Big: We have been abandoned in a camping box
RSPCA: How long have you been in there?
Big: Since 8.00pm today
RSPCA: It’s only 9.30pm
Big: Yes but we have been locked in and left and our mummy has gone to the cinema
RSPCA: Do you have food and water?
Big: Yes we have water and hay we did have pellets but we’ve eaten them all
RSPCA: So you have shelter, food and water and you have been in there for one and a half hours?
Big: Yes
RSPCA: Do you have any toys and any bedding?
Big: Yes we have a willow ball and willow sticks
Beige: Tell them we don’t have an internet connection
Big: but we don’t have an internet connection
Beige: Tell them you have weed on the vet bed so it’s damp
Big: Yes I weed on the vet bed so it’s damp
Beige: Tell them you don’t use a litter tray
Big: Beige says I’ve got to tell you that I don’t use a litter tray
RSPCA: Why don’t you use a litter tray?
Big: Because I like to keep it nice and clean as a snuggly nest
RSPCA: So you have a litter tray as well
Big: Yes
RSPCA: Well we don’t think you need rescuing yet you haven’t been abandoned for long enough
Big: Oh. Beige the RSPCA says we haven’ t been abandoned for long enough
Beige: Tell them it’s getting dark
Big: It’s getting dark
RSPCA: Well you should cuddle up to your brother and go to sleep
Big: they say we should go to sleep
Beige: Tell her we are only baby bunnies
Big: We are baby bunnies
RSPCA: How old are you?
Big: Just over one year and two months
RSPCA: You are not baby bunnies you are all growed up
Big: they say we are growed up bunnies
Beige: Hang up
Big: I’m hanging up now, bye
Beige: We will phone them again in an hour if the mummy still hasn’t come back, maybe we will have been abandoned for long enough by then
Big: I don’t like it out here in the dark. Treacle says Mr Fox will come and eat us because he likes fresh bunnies and we are the youngest of all the bunnies so that makes us the freshest
Beige: Well as I was born before you, so technically you are the youngest and therefore the freshest so Mr Fox will eat you
Big: Noooooooooooooo
I rescued Big and Beige at midnight when I arrived home from the cinema and took them back into the rabbit room where they had pellets and apple for supper
Beige: I asked the mummy why she left us outside in the camping box
Big: What did she say?
Beige: She said we are doing something called ‘try before you buy’ and if we like it in there it will be our first growed up outside home
Big: I don’t like it in there
Beige: She says when we next have a proper dry spell one night we will be doing sleeps in there.
Big: I don’t want to do sleeps in there I like sleeps in the rabbit room
