The Crafter and Artists Sticky Thread

I've made about two dozen bits of jewellery now and I'm loving doing it :D
These are some of my favourites

I haven't got a photo of it finished but I made this for myself recently:

It's my first go with epoxy resin, which I found VERY hard to leave alone for 24 hours

In fact, I knew I wouldn't be able to leave it alone so I had a test piece I was allowed to play with. I ruined it with a fingerprint but decided if I put a bunch more fingerprints on it could pass as purposeful snakeskin effect, I'm actually quite pleased with how it came out!

I work with two-part epoxy resin all the time: both the stiff Milliput (the white supersmooth one) and softer Greenstuff (it's green and doesn't set fully solid). That snake is brilliant :) I use it for filling gaps and adding things to models: I'll try and find my flaming-hand bird-daemon. It's really hard to clear fingerprints when it's all finger-modelled!

keletkezes, did you have any luck digging out the photos of your daemon?
Not yet, not been on the home PC or my laptop long enough to look!

I have found some of my (older) Chaos army stuff though from Facebook: back in the heady days of 2007 when they were newly-finished and being used for actual wargaming! Relevant to the epoxy resin post, here's a Disc of Tzeentch I scratchbuilt entirely, from a base of Milliput and then added organic detail with Greenstuff and spare bits from other models:

The elf on top and the woman on a horse next to it are not Games Workshop models :) The dude behind on the flaming blue horse is, but he's not strictly a model for this army: it's what was Hordes of Chaos and most of the models I use are Elf models.

I also made these guys:

They're made from Warhammer 40k parts: Chaos Space Marine cannon heads with a hole drilled in the back and a large brass rod pushed in to give stability to the Milliput body, which has metal Tyranid Gargoyle wings pushed in and Dark Eldar spikes on the tail-end, then gravel (also used for basing) for 'armour' on their backs. They're one of my favourite models, because I hate the manta-ray-looking things that are the official Screamers.

And before you ask, yes, I do do all my own painting! It's the best bit!

I don't know how I missed this! They are fantastic :D
Fiddly painting is the best kind, so therapeutic.

I made myself a set of Marvel lens caps today. Might put a layer of epoxy on when my syringes arrive.

Lovely work, everyone :)

I have finally got Photobucket to play nicely! So here's some recent work from me :)

A cartoon style pet portrait:

A classic style portrait (this was at the not quite finished stage, and I'm really annoyed that I forgot to take a pic of the totally finished painting before I posted it off :( )

Some pages from my work in progress colouring book:

A heart hanging decoration that was a commission:

And, of course, a few of my recent pet signs :)

Lots of lovely arts and crafts!

Blackberry, please give me a tip off when the new colouring book is on sale.

You'll have to try and beg a wedding photo so we can see it all together :)

I love the variety of stuff you do blackberry, I really struggle to do a particular style (like your cartoon/classic). Half the reason I gave up doing portraits is because I couldn't really tell people what they were going to get
